Large quantities of unlicensed medicines have been taken by Department of Health authorities throughout a search of a house in Glengormley.

A guy was spoken with by department officers about illegally importing and subsequently supplying unlicensed impotence medicines by means of the web.

The 47-year-old was also questioned about other .

He will now be the topic of a report to the Public Prosecution Service.

The search was performed by the department's Medicines Regulatory Group.

Its senior enforcement office, Peter Moore, said: "It is vital that we get the message across that unlicensed medications can be harmful.

"These kinds of products being sold, normally online, have gone through no quality control and there can be no warranty about their safety.

"You simply do not understand what you are taking or the conditions these items were made in. More notably, you do not understand the result drugs like this might have on your health."
